Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Overview

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the promotional, educational, program, and fund-raising arm of Nazarene missions. NMI is the organizational representative of missions for the Church of the Nazarene on the regional, district, and local levels. The organization provides the structure and spiritual dynamic for mobilizing the church in mission, keeping mission interest and thrust alive in the church.

Global NMI Mission Statement

To mobilize the church in mission through prayer, education, giving, and interactive experiences.

Before the organization of the Church of the Nazarene in 1908, missionaries were already in several parts of the world, pioneering the global outreach for what was to be a new denomination. On October 8, 1915, the WMS (Woman's Missionary Society) was founded as the official missions promotional arm of the church, becoming the "face" of missions in the local church and giving an opportunity for all to be involved in the fulfilling of the Great Commission.
Several name changes have occurred over the ensuing decades, and the program and methods have been adapted. Still, the purpose and objectives have remained the same.

Objectives

  • To encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization
  • To inform people of the world's needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs
  • To challendge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church
  • To raise funds for mission outreach
  • Nazarene Missions International Membership

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is a organization of NMI members. NMI membership is available to any Nazarene church member. Non Nazarene church members may become Associate members. Once a person becomes a member they are considered a member for life unless they request the membership to be removed.
Aware of Christ's command to be witnesses to the whole world, the NMI member accepts the commitment (1) to pray, (2) to learn, (3) to give, and (4) to participate in missions through the local church.

    Monthly Mission Services

On the last Sunday of each month we hold a special service focusing on a country from around the world. We will learn about the culture, food, and spiritual life of the people in that country. We will then focus on the Nazarene missionaries in that country and what they have done and will be doing.

Our monthly missionary services are held at 6pm on the last Sunday of each month. Come join us for an informational and fun time.
