Global NMI Mission Statement
To mobilize the church in mission through prayer, education, giving, and interactive experiences.
Before the organization of the Church of the Nazarene in 1908, missionaries were already in several parts of the world, pioneering the global outreach for what was to be a new denomination. On October 8, 1915, the WMS (Woman's Missionary Society) was founded as the official missions promotional arm of the church, becoming the "face" of missions in the local church and giving an opportunity for all to be involved in the fulfilling of the Great Commission.
Several name changes have occurred over the ensuing decades, and the program and methods have been adapted. Still, the purpose and objectives have remained the same.
Objectives
To encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization
To inform people of the world's needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs
To challendge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church
To raise funds for mission outreach
