Schmelzenbach - Biography
Harmon and Cindy Schmelzenbach are fourth generation global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene. Harmon Jr. was born and raised in Africa. He and his wife, Cindy, are graduates of Southern Nazarene University. They serve in the South Pacific along with their children, Danielle and Quinton.
Having spent 18 years in business and lay ministry before God called them to full-time mission work in 2000, Harmon carries a U.S. Coast Guard Master’s License and has operated vessels in the Gulf, Caribbean, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans.
Harmon and Cindy coordinate the FIJIBoat Project project, which was launched in 2000, as an “Approved 10% Special Project” by the World Mission Division of the Church of the Nazarene. This project springs from our mandate to take the love of Jesus to “men from every tribe, nation, tongue and people”, including those on the most isolated shores of the South Pacific. The FIJIBoat Project provides the primary transportation link to remoter island areas for National District Leadership with the JESUS Film, Church Planting, Compassionate Ministry, W&W, Pastoral Training and disaster response. More information on the FIJIBoat Project can be obtained from the web site http://fijiboat.org
