Bible quizzing is all about scripture memorization. Each year a different book of the Bible is selected. Sometimes 2 or more books are selected based on their length. The children then begin working with the scriptures memorizing a good portion of it. Each week they get together study and have fun. Quizzing is also competetive.
Nearly all Nazarene churches participate and there are local, district, regional, national, and even international quizzes. Teams from different churches compete and move up a ladder. There are individual points and team points. Children and teams that do well move forward and can participate in a larger quiz with churches from other areas.
During a quiz the children are asked a question pertaining to the scripture they have read and memorized. They are then given 4 possible answers. When told they must each choose one of the answers.
We believe quizzing helps children become grounded in the Word of God. Not only do they learn scripture but also have fun and look forward to each quiz.
