Robert and Norma Brunson Bob and Norma Brunson are global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene and have served for 28 years. Bob’s parents served as Nazarene pastors in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and California for more than 45 years. Bob has earned a B.A. in religion from Southern Nazarene University, an M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and an M.A. in Old Testament from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has worked on a doctorate in Old Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Norma’s parents, Spurgeon and Fae Hendrix, served in Latin America for 36 years. Norma was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up in Argentina and Cuba. She received a B.S. in education from SNU and has since earned an M.A. in social science from Azusa Pacific University in California. Just recently, Norma graduated from Manchester University in the UK with a master’s in theology. Together Bob and Norma have served in Latin America for 23 years in the countries of Peru and Costa Rica. Their ministry has involved church planting and theological education. They have also pastored the First Spanish Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and taught at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Bob taught in the Religion Department, and Norma served as a Spanish professor and the chair of the Department of Modern Languages. In 2000, they accepted an assignment to the Middle East where they were involved in theological education and leadership training. After serving in the Middle East for five years, they returned to the U.S. December 2, 2005. They are scheduling deputation services throughout the US and Canada during this time of transition. The Brunsons have two married daughters, Robin and Sheri. Sheri’s family is in the Kansas City area. Robin and her husband, Carlos Radi, serve as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in Argentina. Bob and Norma have six grandchildren.
